I am still working on those flower applique' and monster shirts. I don't know about you but I get a little bored when I am making several of the same thing (in this case, about a dozen of each).  I needed a quick & simple project to make me feel like I accomplished something.  So, I took a small break and turned this plain old brown tee...

Yeah, I know it's backwards.  I forgot to take a 'before' picture...oops!

Into this cute cool football shirt for my littlest monster, Adam.

You probably won't be surprised when I tell you that I used my silhouette (along with some white flocked heat transfer vinyl) to create this simple football shirt.  It took me less than 10 minutes to make, from picking the design to ironing it that's fast!  But you don't need a silhouette to make your own.  You could easily cut out the design yourself using an exacto knife (found at most craft stores).  Now it's back to sewing!

Happy Friday!

Thematic Thursday

Thursday, September 15, 2011

Well, after my last post, I got busy and was able to turn those cute little monsters into adorable shirts (I will share them soon).

I also put my scissors and iron to good use and got these 4~layer flowers ready to be appliqued on this lovely stack of white onesies and long sleeved shirts.

I still have lots to do (I am making a list that I will share with you soon!) but it feels good to get some stuff done (or at least closer to being done).

Today I am hoping to turn this pile of washcloths and towels into more monster shirts.

What are you working on?

Lately there seems to be LOTS to do around here.  Trying to keep up with the boys' school & sports schedules, dreaded everyday housework and sewing projects, I am overwhelmed.  Do you ever feel that way?

I am hoping that making some lists and getting a little more organized (along with spending less time reading my favorite blogs and browsing Pinterest!!!)  I will be able to start knocking some things off my lists and feel a little less stressed about it all.

I am off to sew these little guys on t-shirts.

Hope you have a happy Monday!

I was asked by a friend (and great photographer!!) to make a ruffled romper for use during photo shoots.  You know, the ones you see all over blogland and etsyI followed this tutorial by Melissa over at Sew Like My Mom and used some  adorable fabric I ordered from Since the fabric is already perfectly ruffled it came together rather simply.  I couldn't resist making a flower head band to match!Personally, I don't think little Miss "A" could have been any cuter in it!

Thanks to April for the great photo and to little Miss "A" for modeling it so well!
